The Language Arts program artfully integrates most subjects into its lessons, and includes reading, spelling, phonics, writing, literature, grammar, punctuation, geography and art. It provides all the tools to give excellent above standard education to its students and focusses on reading with an amazing array of reading books for all elementary levels!
*To succeed in this course, a solid foundation is necessary, which is why we test each child to ensure they understand individual sounds and are able to blend accurately.
We may recommend The Kindergarten Prep Course in order to be successful at Level 1. The same applies for all the levels.
Spelling and Vocabulary
Apart from reading proficiency, you can expect students to excel in Spelling- a key component of our services. Each week kids get up to 20 new words to learn. This class shows kids how to decode words and learns patterns to spell most words.
Each day every and unfamiliar words accumulated during discussion, reading or in a lesson are added to their vocabulary dictionary and are challenged to not only use the dictionary to find the meaning, but compare it to Google, and further find ways to use it throughout the day.
Overall Goals:
To strengthen understanding of numbers and create a solid understanding of how numbers relate to each other. An excessive amount of practice to hone in on basic skills (add, take away, multiply and divide) to prepare for more comples skills

The Good and the Beautiful curriculum offers student friendly lessons that focus on concrete learning that is crucial for elementary kids to have a strong sense of how to manipulate numbers and is chock full of activities and games to keep the students engaged and learning

The Good and Beautiful History Course covers history spanning different time periods, but kids can choose to focus more on learning about their government

The Good and Beautiful has a wide selection of science lessons from Life Science to Earth Science. This allows your child to choose what interests them. They can select three to five subjects for in-depth learning for the year.

To promote movement of all muscle groups several times weekly
To increase kids understanding of why movement is important to their overall health
We are fortunate enough to have access to various parks that have not only space to play but gyms that provide safe equipment with instructions about use. Kids can take advantage of strengthening their bodies with adult supervision.
This is supplemented with adequate time to utilize gross motor skills as they use park for play.
IN ADDITION, WE USE SEVERAL METHODS TO INCREASE MOBILITY- LIKE OPTING TO USE THE STAIRS
Using Abeka writing series, students will practice handwriting daily
Arts and crafts are included and encouraged with any subject throughout the day
Kids will spend some of their time volunteering to clean up their neighborhood as they learn to be good citizens as a part of.
Culinary Arts is closely linked to Math and Science. This introductory course will introduce kids to the equipment and terms used in cooking. Additionally, they will explore some basic food items and discuss food groups and choices, and learn about cooking methods

We begin the day with a general discussion of current events from different media.
